COMMUNITY SERVICE LEARNING

What is it exactly?

Pursuant to Act 237 of 2023, AR LEARNS, all current students who are set to graduate in the academic year 2026-2027 or beyond, are required to complete a minimum of seventy-five (75) clock hours of documented community service prior to graduation.

We are going to help you!

Since this is now a requirement for graduation, we want to provide as many opportunities as possible for you to get the hours here at school. Make sure to pay attention to Schoology announcements for volunteer opportunities.

You may also do community service activities on your own time. Just make sure the organization you want to volunteer for is on the LRSD approved list. Check LRSD.org for the current list.

What has to be done for each project?

Scan the QR code below and fill out the form. If you have documentation of service from the organization with whom you volunteered, put a copy in Miss Burleson’s box in the Main Office - WITH YOUR NAME AND ID ON IT, or email her a copy at kim.burleson@lrsd.org. You must put your name and ID in the email, too. Even if you provide documentation, you must still fill out the Google Form. If you do a project in class, you will still need to fill out the Google Form. Your teacher will then verify your hours with Miss Burleson.
